Majestic, magnificent, and atmospherically gothgeous post-rock. An abrasive wall of sound juggernaut conducted by a petite, beautiful black-dressed lady from Batcave’s early days. Or picture this: Siouxsie Sioux sharing a bottle of Islay whisky with a doomgaze scientist named E.
Gergasi Api are founded by danse macabre duo from Bandung, music veterans and old buddies Alexandra J. Wuisan (Sieve) and Ekyno (Full of Hate, Plum) early this year. Their debut single, expressing all hope loss, catastrophes and miseries caused by the pandemic. The future seems very volatile and bleak, days run in slo-mo & coloured with colossal uncertainty.
“The way for us to stay sane and to manage anxiety is by doing the thing we like the best: making music,” explained Gergasi Api on how to handle their wild mood swings.
