Twenty-three-year-old Luh Putu Eka Swandewi was excited as she read a message in her laptop screen. Staring at her laptop screen, she read the message from Yahoo!: "Congratulations, Eka."

"Hooray.I made it!" she said while raising her hands. Some of her friends in the room gave her applause.

A poster exhibition and public event marked the anti-poverty campaign, "Stand Up, Take Action, End Poverty Now", campaign at Denpasar's Puputan Badung Park on Sunday.

The exhibit featured dozens of works by local artists. The posters were displayed in the field and attracted the attention of the city's residents, who flocked to the event.

One of the participating artists, Wayan Dania, created posters that attacked prevailing social injustices in the environment, health care and the economy.

Dozens of elderly men and women looked happy wearing traditional Batik sarongs as they got ready to race in a two-meter width and 20 meter-long runaway as part of Indonesia's 64th independence celebrations at the Wana Seraya nursing home in Denpasar on Monday.

The 65-year old Latri was energetically strove to reach the finish lane.

"God, I made it. I can still run quite fast," Latri said.

TEMPO Interaktif, Denpasar: Puluhan aktivis Aliansi Jurnalis Independen (AJI) Denpasar dan Bali Blogger Community, Kamis (11/6), mendatangi kantor Pengadilan Negeri (PN) Denpasar. Mereka melakukan aksi unjuk rasa untuk meminta pembebasan Prita Mulyasari, terdakwa dalam kasus pelanggaran pasal 27 ayat 3 UU Infomasi dan Transaksi Elektronik.

Pengunjuk rasa membawa poster dan spanduk yang antara lain bertuliskan, "Cabut Pasal-pasal Pencemaran Nama Baik", "Lindungi Hak Menyatakan Pendapat dan Informasi", "Sekarang Prita, Besok Giliran Anda", dan lain-lain. Dalam yel-yel yang dipimpin koordinator lapangan Rio Barlianto, mereka meminta Prita dibebaskan dan pasal pencemaran nama baik dihapuskan dari berbagai undang-undang yang berlaku di Indonesia. Aksi ini juga didukung oleh aktivis lembaga swadaya masyarakat dari Koalisi untuk Kebebasan Informasi (KKI).

Nine-year old Ni Kadek Kristina found that typing on the keyboard of the 8-inch sub notebook was no easy task. The third grader at the SD 1 Guwang state elementary school was trying to type the word petani (farmer) and she paused repeatedly as her eyes scanned the cramped keyboard searching for the correct letters.

Kristina's friend, Ni Putu Eka, was sitting next to her. Eka watched her friend finish the task and then took her turn in using the mini computer. Her eyes were bright with amazement.

The students were participating in a computer workshop organized by the Bali Blogger Community (BBC) on Sunday. BBC members took different roles in the workshop.

Berapa jumlah anggota yang terdaftar, dari kalangan mana saja?
 sampai hari ini 239 orang di mailing list (milis). Hampir tiap minggu ada penambahan anggota di milis. Selain itu ada beberapa anggota lain yang tidak ikut milis BBC tapi memasang banner sebagai anggota BBC. Jadi ya, sekitar 250 orang lah.

Anggotanya aneka rupa. Ada dosen, dokter, mahasiswa, ibu rumah tangga, wartawan, desainer, praktisi IT, web developer, aktivis LSM, pekerja pariwisata, sampe anggota pasukan penjaga perdamaian di afrika, dan buanyak lagi yang lainnya. Mereka tersebar tak hanya di bali tp juga kota, negara, atau bahkan negara lain.
